PRE FILLED SYRINGE

Pre-filled syringes or PFS are a single dose packet of a parental drug in which the needle is fixed by the manufacturer. PFS have become an increasingly important option to deliver errorless dose, an option for packaging and delivery.

“THE PACK SHOT”

PURPOSE OF PFS

• The purpose of PFS are, first, to deliver the drug so that there is no adverse effect on the identity, strength, quality, purity and potency of the drug over the shelf life. • Second, to deliver the utmost patient compliance so that patients can be administered an accurate and an appropriate amount of drug with minimal training. • Third, it also minimizes the risk of contamination.

TWO KIND OF PFS

Commonly, the two kind of PFS used are

• Glass based system • Plastic based System

The glass based system has several advantages

PUREGRAF PFS – KNOW YOUR MEDICINE PUREGRAF 150/ 225/ 300/ IU PFS which contains Human Menopausal Gonadotropin is used to treat certain fertility problems in women. It provides follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) that help stimulate healthy ovaries to make eggs.

DOSE OF PUREGRAF PFS The dose of Puregraf PFS is usually decided according to several factors such as age, duration of infertility, Ovarian reserve of the patient among several others.

Along with the dose, patients have to maintain the regularity and the timing of the daily dose of such hormonal preparations, unfailingly. Prefilled syringes impart a more convenient form of delivering accurate dose with no incompatibility issues with self-administration.
